Think Globally, Act Locally

Think Globally, Act Locally
Leadership at the Local Level

Addressing climate change requires commitment at all levels of government including cities, states provinces and regions. Cooperation is essential since these governments bear a responsibility for land-use planning, vehicle miles traveled and infrastructure. Urban areas consume 75 percent of the world’s energy and produce up to 75 percent of its greenhouse gas emissions. However, urban areas can also provide key opportunities to reduce emissions. Panelists will discuss both challenges and solutions that are used by urban areas to reduce emissions.
